As already mentioned in the About Me section, this blog is denoted to be a technical one, with the stress falling mainly on development and, partially and rarely, on non-technical stuff. But, why, you would probably say, is it worth making a blog completely devoted to technology and all kind of techno-stuff?
First of all, it is vital to (at least try and) define what stays behind the word technology. According to Wikipedia:
“Technology (“science of craft”, from Greek) is the collection of techniques, skills, methods and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, etc. or it can be embedded in machines, computers, devices and factories, which can be operated by individuals without detailed knowledge of the workings of such things.”
Having a look at the last sentence of this definition, it can be said that technology is the force which we make use of in order to create or develop new objects or methodologies which can further be provided to other people for usage without any previous experience. A simple example?
Remember that the first computers were calculating machines with the size of whole rooms and the rudimentary hard drives at the time had a capacity of 5MB and would only fit in a square box taller than a man of average height. You had to be, if not part of the team that created these computing giants, at least an engineering professional in order to operate such a machine. And now think what you do nowadays – you sit back comfortably, touch a screen and your smartphone (which has enormous power capabilities compared to these of the old room-computers) does the rest. The only reason you can do that is technology, which has evolved during the years.
Since technology, at least to me personally, is such a great power which helps the world to move forward, the answer is yes – it is worth devoting a blog to it. This is why the Sandroid Blog is based (almost) purely on technological topic.
